Anthony Lacy
Anthony Lacy grew up in the Chicago area and earned his bachelor's degree in health administration from Eastern Illinois University (EIU), with minors in Business Administration and Political Science. During his undergraduate experience, Anthony was first exposed to health administration at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System as a rotational intern within the departments of Business Planning & Development, Practice Management, and Infection Control. Additionally, he interned at EIU’s Health Education Resource Center as a COVID-19 health education intern. This experience allowed him to better understand public health education and outreach by creating various educational materials for weekly tabling events around campus.
The summer after graduating from EIU and before starting graduate school, Anthony was an intern for the Appeals & Grievances department at Molina Healthcare. While at Molina, he was able to dive deeper into the insurance side of healthcare and better understand claims and appeals processing on the provider side. In the spring of 2025, Anthony completed his Master of Health Administration (MHA) at the University of Iowa. During graduate school, he served as a graduate assistant at the University of Iowa Health Care. In his first year, he supported the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, where he gained insight into inpatient operations, physician leadership, and provider credentialing. In his second year, he worked with the University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC), contributing to various projects across walk-in, primary care, pediatric, and specialty clinics. His experience at UICC helped shape his interest in ambulatory operations.
Anthony is excited about working as an Administrative Fellow at UI Health and hopes to work on projects that make a meaningful impact for both the organization and patients. He looks forward to continuing to explore other areas of interest, including surgical operations, strategy, and health equity.
Julia Waight
Julia Waight grew up in Naperville, a southwest suburb of Chicago. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she was a four-year member of the University’s Division I women’s gymnastics team and earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology.
After graduation, Julia spent the summer as an Administrative Intern with the Mobile Health Services department at Carle Health in Champaign, IL, supporting mobile health clinics and the Mobile Market. That same year, she began her Master of Health Administration (MHA) at Saint Louis University and also pursued a certificate in Quality and Performance Excellence within the College for Public Health and Social Justice.
During the summer between her first and second years of graduate school, Julia interned at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. There, she contributed to initiatives related to artificial intelligence, ambulatory expansion planning, cost management, and system-level strategy, while attending executive leadership meetings and seeking hands-on learning opportunities.
While completing her MHA, Julia served as a Graduate Research Assistant under the mentorship of the Health Management and Policy Department Chair. She also competed in two national case competitions, where she developed insights into Medicare Advantage plan expansion and nurse safety.
Julia is currently continuing to explore her interests in process improvement, strategic growth, and quality & safety through the UI Health Administrative Fellowship while also gaining broad exposure to hospital operations. She loves living and working in Chicago, spending time with her sister, family, and friends, and making steady progress on her restaurant and coffee shop bucket list.
